Overkill
I'm reading a book called Overkill: The Rise of Paramilitary Police Raids in America By Radley Balko. It make me angry at what the government is getting away with. It talks about how the SWAT teams are used in the United States. It talks about all the mistakes and people killed by the SWAT teams. How they are used to arrest white collar doctors, how they escalate the situation not deescalate it like police officers should and the list goes on. The book talks allot about how they like to show they have the power and want to scare the "Bad" people away. Radley Balko then goes and states that the lesson of history is the reverse, but we humans seem to like to play war. Hear is a quote "When the soldiers ride in, you should see those blacks scatter." said by an SWAT commander (Parenti, “SWAT Nation,” p. 16). So let us not try to escalate things but bring them down so we can fix the problem and not make it worse.
