 Oh God how we struggle with Money.

Help us to give everything to you.
Help us to trust everything to you.
Help us to navigate the minefields of heated topics!
Help us to open up the doors of blessings from you!

What is a vain Preoccupation?

How often we struggle for things that are not God's heart?
Even good things when they are not God's will are evil.

God help us be comfortable and satisfied with Your will for our lives.
God help us to run to your perfect plan for our lives at full steam.
God help us to leave everything else aside.
God help us reduce the time we spend on all other things.
God help us to live for you.
God help us cultivate fertile soil for you! and teach others to do the same!

Vain Preoccupations

 Oh how we are so consumed by vain preoccupations. Help us when focus on the better occupations.

God help us focus on what is valuable.
God help us focus on what is true.
God help us spend our time on the eternal.

We need your help every day.
Help us to trust you.
Help us navigate this world.
God shake us till we see you!

Oh Dad

Revelations 21: ³ And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ⁴ ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’^[b] or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” ⁵ He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

 C.S. Lewis Grief Observed

"How wicked it would be, if we could, to call the dead back! She said not to me but to the chaplain, " I am at peace with God.' She smiled, but not at me. Poi si torno all eterna fontana."

 Oh Dad I miss you but I know you are at peace with God and how wicked it would be to call you back. All your pain has been wiped away. Oh how I praise God for that.  

 

 

Vapour in the Wind

 We are nothing but a vapour in the wind. Here one moment and gone in another.

I think so often we look for earthly pleasures but really life here is a refining fire and not pleasure. No matter what pleasure. As C.S. Lewis says in his book the discarded image every age has certain vices that are worse than others and certain virtues that are elevated above the rest. In reality they are all the same and how quickly we forget this.

Let us remember we are here for a refiners fire and that is what gives purpose in life. How hard it is to accept this. Revelations 21:5"An he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new..."

Temporary for Eternal

God help us to trust you

God help us to set ourselves aside

God destroy the lies and help us see the truth

God help us to know what you want us to do and forget all else

God take care of our every need

God you are the truth

God you are the beginning and the end

God trade our temporary for the eternal

God's Grace

I think one of the greatest misunderstood thing about Jesus is the idea of Grace. I think even with me and other Christians.

Grace: (in Christian belief) the free and unmerited favor of God, as manifested in the salvation of sinners and the bestowal of blessings.

I think it is most misunderstood because I think for God it is an all or nothing. Anyone who accepts God's grace through Jesus will receive it. I think as Christians we gloss over that statement and don't take it in. I believe this is a major part in the revolution of Jesus. No matter how small or large God will extend grace to those who accept it. This is hard to accept for ourselves and it is hard for us to apply this to others.

We are stuck in a payment monetary system. Small items require only small payment and big items require big payment. Another way to look at it is progress punishment. Small rule breaking requires small punishment. Large rule breaking requires large punishment. Grace doesn't work like that. Any rule breaking requires payment but you can not pay you have to accept Jesus's payment as a free gift. Others can accept is as a free gift just as well as us. Because of this we are all the same. God sees there is no other way. You can not have a small punishment for a small rule breaking. God knows that will not work.

God help us to live for you
God help us to accept your free gift of Grace
God help us to listen to you
God help us to trust you

Musing from a Pandemic

Transitions are hard. They are fraught with conflict, divisions, break downs, and extra work. Is this what constructive destruction is like? There will be no going back. Things will be broken that can’t be fixed and things will be created that can’t be unmade. If you ignore the change you will be left behind.

Everything that is know for certain is in question. Things that you would think would never happen will. Things that you think will happen will not. It is the challenge in conquering the beast.

I could give examples but they are fraught with interpretation error and are not likely to happen again. What wisdom could I bestow? Fight the fight push through God is there in the future as well as the past we just don’t know the future yet. Remember you are not God. Keep your prospective in check.

How do we deal with it? One step at a time, one conversation at a time, one project at a time.

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
courage to change the things I can,
and wisdom to know the difference.
