All this work for nothing

We seem to try so hard as humans to do many things but it always falls apart in our hands. Conquers die on their last battle. The moon hasn't been touched in a long time. Empires fall apart from the inside. Business go bankrupt. Stories and names get forgotten or used without knowing the person. Relief aid that goes to the wrong people. A+ students get nerves breakdowns. Relief aid that doesn't even help but hinder the healing process. We seem to work so hard to do something but it always falls apart. paraphrase from the movie Enemy at the Gate. "We tried to create a world where there would be no wanting of a neighbours stuff but we always will" From the mouth of a communist Russian.

It seems as though we weren't meant to do things for ourselves and by ourselves. What we do for God is the only thing that really matters and he doesn't expect us to do anything by ourselves (because then we might want to take the credit). Why should I even try. The question for me is what am I tyring to do by myself or for myself and leave it behind before I waste to much time on it.

Ecclesiastes 9

11 I returned and saw under the sun that—
The race is not to the swift,
Nor the battle to the strong,
Nor bread to the wise,
Nor riches to men of understanding,
Nor favor to men of skill;
But time and chance happen to them all.
12 For man also does not know his time:
Like fish taken in a cruel net,
Like birds caught in a snare,
So the sons of men are snared in an evil time,
When it falls suddenly upon them.

The world is lost over pennies

The world is lost over every choice we make. I've been wondering where the things we buy come from. How many things we buy have it's history in slavery(debt or not). The world is driven in saving money. This is good when it is used to make a system more efficient (yet there are many companies in the U.S. that are far from efficient), but there is nothing to stop the use of cheap labour or unethical ways of making money.
The dirty products are every one's fault. Do you buy the fair trade coffee? Do you buy honey instead of sugar? Would you buy the more expensive product if you knew it was made ethically? The companies obviously don't think so. This is why I say the world is lost over pennies, every person saves a few pennies and people die every day.
I'm no exception I still eat sugar, use tissue paper... the list goes on. The purpose of the blog is not to make you feel guilty but to make you aware of the problems and not blindly follow the cheaper product and if God grants us wisdom we might be even able to fix these problems.

Addictions

Images of drugs cigarettes alcohole ... come to mind. Recently I've been wondering about addictions. What am I addicted to? When I was younger I had a friend who didn't know what the word addiction meant and after it was explained to him he said he was addicted to watermelon.

When looking my own life there are some thing that I don't really want but yet they are still there. For the drug addict his circumstances lead him to get his next high. To stop the cycle he has to make major life changes (mental and physical) to fix his addiction, and if we don't help him I doubt that he can ever get out of the cycle. Things I want to give up are; wasting time by watching TV and I want to spend less time doing nothing on the computer. The way that seems to work the best for me is to slowly change my life style to include other things. The easiest way to break free was not to try really hard to break free (that never seems to work in the long run) but to realize that I didn't want it anymore and then through a slow change of mind give it up.

Here's and interesting Quote that goes along with this article. It is from a FAQ off of http://www.humanclock.com/

"You have too much time on your hands! Why did you waste your time on this?
The same could be said for someone sitting though a generic Hollywood action movie or someone mindlessly flipping though TV channels complaining that there is "nothing on". It is just how I choose to spend my free time.

A blog on blogs

This being my first blog and all I think I'm going to write a blog about blogs. Blogs seem to be an interesting thing. People seem to use them for all sorts of reasons. Some write them to impose there views on other and others seem to write them to get frustration out. There seem to be others how do it to be popular. I am not certain about my reasons for writing a blog but I'm sure I won't be able to peg it to any one thing. I'll try not to make this blog to centered on one thing or another like me this blog will probable take a very odd road.

Back to the topic about blogs this is my problem about with blogs, they all seem to say the same sort of things. There are the anti corporate blogs, anti government blogs, save the trees blogs, religious and so on they go. I guess they are popular topics of today all giving the same messages and themes, but there comes a point when we don't really need any more of those (except in nonsequitur comics). I will probably cover most if not all of these topics but I will try not to talk about any one topic to be popular or force my ideas on any one else. (I like how I contradicted myself saying we don't need any of those blogs but then saying I'm going to write about them. lol)

So here is my blog about blogs hope you enjoyed it. I pray that God will bless you in the following day.
