God for All

One of my beliefs is that Christianity is a living faith.  Jesus is alive and speaks to us, leads everyone. He speaks to other people, other cultures, other traditions. Jesus spoke to the early church in the bible, spoke to the Romans, spoke to the people of the middle ages ... etc and they had very different ways of life than us. What I am getting at is in a sense we have to surrender our judgments. Jesus leads the church and we have to take our lead from him.

What this brings up to me is that we need to put Jesus before our culture. We have to be able to surrender everything including our way of life to Jesus. How many of our ancestors had to surrender or change their way of life to follow Jesus. I think we should try to follow that lead.

It's a funny thing God is unchangeable. Yet he is living. How do those things work together? We as human almost understand living and changing to almost interchangeable.

God lead us
God speak to us
God teach us to listen to you
God help us to trust you
Gold help us to understand how living and unchangeable work together.
God heal us

City of God

They, then, who lost their worldly all in the sack of Rome, if they owned their possessions as they had been taught by the apostle, who himself was poor without, but rich within,—that is to say, if they used the world as not using it,—could say in the words of Job, heavily tried, but not overcome:  “Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither:  the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; as it pleased the Lord, so has it come to pass:  blessed be the name of the Lord.” Like a good servant, Job counted the will of his Lord his great possession, by obedience to which his soul was enriched; nor did it grieve him to lose, while yet living, those goods which he must shortly leave at his death.

City of God Augustine of Hippo

Through the centuries Augustine reminded me that God and our faith is our great possession.

God remind us that you are our great possession
God remind us of you
God lead us to you
God we need you
God speak to us
God lead us
Help us trust in you

Understanding

I have recently read the book "The Language of God: A Scientist Presents Evidence for Belief" by Francis S. Collins. I like his book maybe because he quotes C.S. Lewis.

What I like best is that he presents that science and the bible have to agree. And is part of the following foundation http://biologos.org/

1) If science is based off of logic and I believe God has granted us logic to understand nature and the universe

2) If the bible is based off of divine words spoken to us and recorded

Then they can't disagree just our interpretation of either one. It is almost as though they are two pillars of understanding that both have their foundation in God who granted them to us.

This poses a serious of curious question to me.
Is there other paths of understanding that God has given us to help understand him?

God help us trust in you
God help us to understand you
God speak to us
God lead us

Milky Way Cygnus

 Psalm 147:4-6

The Message (MSG)

2-6 God’s the one who rebuilds Jerusalem,
    who regathers Israel’s scattered exiles.
He heals the heartbroken
    and bandages their wounds.
He counts the stars
    and assigns each a name.
Our Lord is great, with limitless strength;
we’ll never comprehend what he knows and does.
God puts the fallen on their feet again
and pushes the wicked into the ditch.
